MEC's PTSO is excited to announce our upcoming 5K Fun Run fundraiser to be held on March 22nd, 2025. This event will help us raise money for the MEC Awards Banquet.

MEC Winter Formal will be February 13th from 7 pm to 9 pm. There is a $5.00 entry fee.

Last week was Spirit Week at MEC! Camo Day, Disney Day, Greasers vs. Socs Day, Superhero & Anything But a Cup Day and Class Color Day! We also ended the week with our Annual Cultural Thanksgiving Lunch! What a great time to be apart of the MEC Family!

Macon Early College will be on Fall Break Thursday 10/17 and Friday 10/18. No school for students. SCC will still have college classes on Thursday 10/17. Students will still need to attend college classes if they are scheduled for that day. No transportation will be provided for Thursday college classes.
The Haunted Corn Maze is set for October 19th at H&H Farms! Part of all ticket sales go to MEC Students!
Macon County Schools-Franklin, Highlands & Nantahala will be closed for students on Tuesday, October 1 and Wednesday, October 2. Both days will be optional workdays for faculty & staff. Meal pickup for students will be available on Wednesday, October 2 from 11:00-12:00 at East Franklin Elementary School, Iotla Valley Elementary School, Cartoogechaye Elementary School and South Macon Elementary School.
The Macon County School System, in collaboration with the Macon County Emergency Management staff, will continue to provide school system updates as they become available.
Reminder there is no school for students tomorrow Sept 20th. Teacher Work Day!
There will be a 200 question exemption test for Drivers Ed given on Saturday September 21st at 9 am at Franklin High School in the cafeteria. Any student who will be the age of 14 1/2 yrs old by this date is able to take this test. To register for this test, you will need to visit the wncdrivingschool.com website. Please read all information for study materials and items needed for test on the website. Cost is $65 cash
