All FHS 11th grade students will take the ACT on March 12th. Below are a few reasons this test should be important to you. You can see that this is a great opportunity to be able to prepare and take the ACT without the usual fee.
Some colleges still do optional test scoring. Many do, however, require ACT scores if GPA is lower than that college's expectation. Our current 11th grade class should expect these scores to be required as part of the application process.
Students planning to enroll with 2-yr schools can also benefit from meeting benchmark scores on the ACT. ACT scores can help you avoid remedial courses and can gain admissions for professional programs you might apply to.
Most scholarship opportunities include ACT scores in the decision making process.
Students pursuing a career in the military will be required at some point to produce ACT scores. Particular branches may require a minimum composite score.
While the ACT can be retaken to improve scores, this is the only opportunity they have to take it for free.
Even if a student plans to pursue a path in which they don't see the obvious benefit from having solid ACT scores, having them will keep those doors open for the future.
Below is a schedule for Free Content Review Sessions at FHS starting Feb. 24th!
